PRO Pulse magazine
My #1 priority during my time at PRO Sports Club was to design an 84-page bi-monthly magazine called PRO Pulse. This magazine was a benefit to club members and its main goal was to promote programs, classes, events, as well as member success stories.
We had a copywriter who wrote all the stories for the magazine, but everything else was my responsibility. That included coordinating with different departments to get their content in on time, coordinating with the print vendor to schedule printing and mailing, page layout, scheduling and directing photoshoots, and attending press checks.

PRO Pulse magazine covers.

We liked to think of every department inside of PRO Sports Club as a separate business client. Here is a sample of an article from one of our Registered Dietitians including a recipe for healthy bone broth.

We would promote events/programs that we held throughout the year as well as include recipes from 20/20 LifeStyles, which was our metabolic weight loss program. The ad on the left was created using stock photography. For the recipe on the right, my in-house photographer took the photo of the turkey meatloaf which I directed.

An article from our Personal Training department offering up training to prepare for fall sports tryouts.

We liked to highlight members who had successfully completed the 20/20 LifeStyles program. All photos were taken by our in-house photographer and directed by me.

Another member success story.

Everything else PRO Sports Club
When I wasn’t designing the PRO Pulse magazine, I got to jump in and help our other designers with projects from around the club. I got to do a little bit of everything there. I got to redesign the packaging for the line of Ready-to-Drink Protein Shakes, Protein Powder and Protein Bars. I also got to design a lot of t-shirts for various programs at the club. One of my most favorite things I got to design was the Bel-Red Crossfit gym. I designed the logo, the signage as well as had input into the design of the whole space.
